Hello! I searched the forum and found no information about cardinals owner operator position. I heard how awesome cardinal is from watching Jeffery Quinn on Youtube. Unforently, I did the math just like Chasing Andrew Jackson told me to do and well you tell me what you think. I went to orientation today. This is the sheet they gave me with rates.

    1-120 = $1.25/mile
    121-249 = $1.16/mile
    250-524 = $1.10/mile
    525+ = $1.015/mile

Miles range from 1,500-2,400 a week (Thatt's what paper says)

Stop Pay - $21.50 (all store delivery stops)
    Backhaul - $21.50
Dentention - $25/hr after first two hours ($25/hr per quarter hour increments)
Reinbursed for tolls, scales, washouts, lumpers, tailer maint., pallets with receipts
    Elogs (peoplenet)
    Paid Orientation
On site shops (To fix company driver trucks not O/O) Unless, you want tires or something
Estimated weekly gross - $2,500 to $3,500 (according to paper)
    Estimated Gross Annual - $143,000

    The Math?

    Quality Truck Note - $695/week
    Insurance - $ 200/week
    Fuel - $800/week

    Let's say you run 2,400 miles for 1.015 = $2415
    You get 3 stops @ 21.50 = $64.50
There is no detention because you will be the only truck at the #### store. They deliver to mom and pops.

$2479.5 - The Above = $784.5 paycheck. Hopefully you can get more stops a week i guess.

Meanwhile company drivers get .48cpm running 3000 miles a week taking home $1000+

So after they gave you the rate sheet did you walk out or are you staying?

Andrew Jackson was booted from this site, and still lives at his mamas house, why anyone would take any advice he tries to give is beyond me.

1.25 a mile is nothing if you have a payment over your head.

1.25? I figure it would only be 1.015 a mile. I figured they wouljust give runs around 700 miles or so and back

    QuietStorm Thanks this.
