I've got 8 macks in my fleet, they run everything except heavy haul. I bought western stars for that work. Had three that were setup for heavy haul but the drivers like WS better so they were sold off when the WS arrived.

The costs are in line with any other truck, the only exception I've had was with a transmission part that has to be made out of gold, other than that, it is the same as owning anything else.

Depends on the Mack also. Macks that still had the Mack engine in them like the E7 460hp were probably cheaper than some others. The newer Macks with MP8 and MP10 engines are more money. Just like with any of these newer emissions engines. Ever price parts for an ISX Cummins? They are expensive.

The original mechanical E-7, not half mech electronic pump but fully mech is quite a beast with the pump tweaked and the timing right. My dads turned up 315 formula 855 chewed his 460 apart. Take a look at the 11L E-6 300+ with 1425tq. The 400hp E-7 was just 1460tq out of a 12L block. the 300 E-6 has more TQ the the 444xt even.

E-7 Is almost an E-6 with thicker webbing and buttress bolts through the block and 1/2in longer stroke I think. That block design has been around since late 30's early 40s. Why you think they're being exported to places with not so nice terrain? The go with out a fight. Only thing I liked about the new volvo powered Macks is the mp8. 415/1500 walked a 485/1650isx with a 100k frac pump. 445c I was very impressed with. Idk specs but 1400 at 70mph in 10th. Heck that 425/1650 isx 12 got my attention

[QUOTE="The cost of the starter depends on the type of starter your truck has. Mine was $500.00 installed at Mack which gives you a 1years parts and labor warranty.
