No use worrying about it till you have to. Just look em' in the eye and tell them you were in the right. Cops didn't think you did anything wrong or they #### sure would have given you a ticket. All you can do. I have read on here I think that HOS were suspended for relief supplies so you should be ok on that. Good luck buddy.

Big Duker, thanks. And I hope this doesnt sound ####y but i'm really not worried about it. I am kind of surprised myself to be honest. But I know I am a cautious and careful driver. Proof? I havent had ANY kind of violations on my driving record for ten years. Nope, not even a parking ticket. Ive gone over what I did (ok, many times) and I still think I did all I could to avoid exactly what happened. I did tell me FM today that very thing. If I do get let go it will be because they are looking for reasons to cut down on company drivers. I know I can get another job(even if it had to be Swift). What will be, will be. Nothin I can do about it. I will be driving for someone, if for no other reason than to prove ATS made a mistake. I do still expect to be routed back to Cloud to talk to safety anyway. Which is fine, I have some paperwork stuff for the end of the year review(if still needed LOL), and it never hurts to go home for a few days. Ill keep you informed!
Big Duker Thanks this. -
I heard that ATS is not hiring company drivers anymore, L/O and O/O only.
-
Have you talked to anyone who was an owner/operator who leased out to them doing specialized/flatbed or van? If so, how are they doing? I noticed they make you take a minimum of 25,000 miles each quarter when you're an owner/operator for flatbed (in my area).
-
Big Country thats not EXACTLY true. They are hiring company drivers, just not students or recent grads any more. They have either suspended or done away with their training program depending on who you talk to. If you have exp. you can still get a company job, especially if you have any OD or heavy haul exp. Ram, I have talked to both O/O's and L/O's. For the most part they have all been at least content, most were happy. I have looked into the lease program myself, its pretty good as lease plans go. One year walk away with a $3200 completion check at the end. You do have to run hard tho. It seems to cost right around $1200 wk for the truck plus fuel. That includes payment, ins., maint. act., tire act., and what ever else I am forgetting! You have the option of either percentage or mileage but they push you hard to go with mileage until you reach class 2 or 1. The mileage pay is a sliding scale(which I dont really like), longer the run, less pay. From 0-399 miles=$1.50/mile($450 min.); 400-599= $1.07/m; 600-899= $1.01/m;900-1499=.90/m; 1500-1899=.83/m; 1900+=.81/m. All rates are plus FSC. They say quarterly min. of $1.05 if you reach 25,000 miles per quarter, and ave. less thatn 1,000 miles per haul. OD loads pay 65% of the charges, I believe they mean in addition to the mileage, but not sure. Hope this helps!
ramdaspadhye Thanks this. -
Pathfinder, are you privy to what the load pays or do they keep LO in the dark. I would think % would be better if they are hauling good freight. Should make it easier to make a decision as well.

About your accident PF,
I hate idiot's that sneak in on the right. I always watch for 'em with my hood mirror. If they try it I stop, and pull on the air horn.
My school brought this subject up specifically to me. In all cases it is a preventable; driver to leave trailer tires as close too curb as possible, in order to block cars from making an attempt ( you know ).
When I got on with my company one of my trainers had this happen in Chicago, and was not issued a citation either. I'm not sure why maybe bad police work. But he said he was bi7ch3d out by company brass.
I don't think they will ice you PF. Just recite all the safety B/S you can and how you will avoid this in the future.
PF, do you feel like you have to run hot since you have been with ATS? -
Are those the prices even if you own your own truck?? That sliding scale is horrible, imo...
