US Govt. says 80 to 100% of truck driver jobs will go away

To all whose fears are being stoked by self driving trucks please answer me this:

Ever seen a commercial plane (cargo/or passenger) without a HUMAN PILOT?....

And how long has this "self navigation" (a.k.a self driving) system been in place....(hint: a looooong time, since air navigators were eliminated)...but "Captain of the Ship" is still there

LMAO, 80-100%? That's our average annual turnover rate anyway. They go away every week, yet come right back on Monday morning in orientation.

 

If the Trilateralists goal of reducing the population by 80% is realized, then I suppose that 80% of products being shipped would no longer need to be shipped and therefore 80% of the driving jobs would be eliminated..

 

The Robo truck is going to fail at the milk farm. Provided everything stays the same as far as terrain, ground and boulders.

 

I would say why my job is safe from robotruck but then everyone would jump in here and drive the freight prices into the cellar. They already have a good start.

 

Id say we still have at least 15 more years to go before they make it completely legal and start selling fully autonomous trucks.

 

This article doesn't even begin to explain all the ins and outs and gives a false sense of trucking jobs being eliminated. Long story short...
This is not the case nor will it be in your lifetime. The trucks, even though they are somewhat automated via software, are only to assist drivers to make it safer for driving. A driver is still needed.
This article is a prime example of "don't believe everything you read on the internet".

 

Why don't we have fully automated trains yet?

 

Where those numbers are down, the people fall out of the system so there is no real way to count it accurately.

There are many types of trucking that will need a real driver, there is no way that they can be replaced.

 

That's a great question, maybe we need to demand that first.
