Legal to tarp over the rub rail?

Do not confuse company rules with actual regulations. There is a big difference.

This logic dictates. When a van or refer is attached to a tractor, this action puts the driver in violation by covering reflective tape, mudflaps and rear lights on back of tractor.
I'm not sure. Been reading the fmcsa website and can't find an interpretation for this rule.
Oh well. I will cover it when I need to.

That statement makes no logic at all.
Logic dictates that when you are hooked to a trailer the reflective tape, mud flaps and rear lights on the trailer are still covering the back of the vehicle. -
Alot of our open flats and steps have the tape on the frame now.
