Simply put, that retro reflective tape is required by the FMCSA. You covering it up is just like it not being there.

Do not confuse company rules with actual regulations. There is a big difference.

No need to start the 10 thousandth argument about straps outside the rub rail. It's been beat to death.

This logic dictates. When a van or refer is attached to a tractor, this action puts the driver in violation by covering reflective tape, mudflaps and rear lights on back of tractor.
I'm not sure. Been reading the fmcsa website and can't find an interpretation for this rule.
Oh well. I will cover it when I need to.
Happy new year to all and
    Good luck.

That statement makes no logic at all.

Logic dictates that when you are hooked to a trailer the reflective tape, mud flaps and rear lights on the trailer are still covering the back of the vehicle.

One of the tightest tarp jobs I have ever had. 10'6" wide and didn't have to touch the tarp for the 900 mile trip. Reflective tape is on the frame btw IMG_2153.JPG

    TripleSix Thanks this.
