Since I already have a pittsburg i was wondering what the best things to do to get more power is. things that will help make the pittsburg work better. i crossed the wires on the boost sensor and the pittsburg reads 49 psi all the time and will blow lots of black smoke. not sure if i actually gained any power with that or not. at idle it will shake as i turn the levels up 7 obviously shakes the most. Am I hurting anything with it like that?

Can you buy a 3406B manifold brand new from cat still? if so how much are they? does anything need modified to get them to fit?

Also the fuel temp sensors on a 2ws are only 2 wires correct? so i could just wire in a 150ohm resistor to one of the wires?

thanks and sorry bout all the questions. I've read alot of posts on here and its kinda got me confused on things

I am sure there are some guys here that could help you,We can still get brand new manifolds here so you should.
Why did you go with Pittsburg? Not that I'm knocking it just like getting another point of view.
Why would you get a fuel temp wire thats what a Pitts will do....right?
Lots of smoke, too much fuel not enough turbo.....?
Did it make a big diff when you first put the box on...?

Sorry guess I wasn't too clear. The truck has good power I always figured that because the pittsburg doesn't add fuel until it sees boost that just meant that the truck was shaking because the timing was so advanced since the pittsburg thinks the truck had 49psi. Im looking for more power so I was wondering if there was things i could do that could make the pittsburg work better with my truck plus other things like a bigger turbo. will doing the fuel harness not give me more power because of the pittsburg.

I put a pittsburg on because it was the only thing i knew how to get more power at the time

I never wanted more power but I like it.
I had turbo trouble and it grew from there,I put a fuel temp wire on 2 weeks ago from what I understand it told the ECM the fuel was 170*F so the timing gets retarded and the injector stays open a bit longer to allow the hot or expanded fuel to get in when the fuel is really still cold thus lettin more fuel in(more power)in my case with bigger injectors it let in a LOT more fuel I noticed a huge change in power.I would of thought the box would work against this?
I have since removed the wire until I replace the clutch as I am waiting for a heavy duty one to turn up.
I would be looking at a bigger turbo I would of thought Pittsburg should of told you that when you brought it,From what I hear you should'nt run it up to 7.
    Whats your EGTs?
    Hows your MPGs?

well the way my pittsburg box is setup they have the derate temp at 1300f so i put my prob in the manifold and I don't let it get higher then 1400 and I won't hold it past 1200 for a long period of time at all. I think the way I have my boost sensor it keeps feeding the engine alot of fuel when the pittsburg is suppose to back it off at 1300.

I don't know if the fuel temp harness will work against it or not but i'd like to have it if it doesn't.

Where the best place to get larger injectors? also what are the fts and fls codes people talk about? how do adjust them?

Why would put the probe in the manifold?I thought it's was to go about 6'' behind the turbo.
I brought mine from Great Lakes they start out with brand new injectors then replace the barrels's and plunger's to make them flow better and make the crack off pressure higher then flow tested and matched as a set.
After a few problems at the start I am now happy to work with them.
You can buy brand new marine injectors (59s) from CAT, 550 has put up the part numbers up somewhere.
FLS/FTS everyone seems to have there own ideas if you can look up DDS on this site I think he is not far from you he can change them and knows what he is talking about.
As far as I know if you are putting more fuel in you need more air,Thats what I like about Great Lakes injectors and turbo they are matched and apart from a bit of smoke on gear shifts it burns clean if you slowly build up boost to 50psi no smoke whats so ever and making a good 800hp to the tyres.

Whats the fun if theres no smoke? lol He has the probe in the manifold so he can see actual exhaust temps, the reason why the factory puts it in the downpipe is liability, just incase the probe breaks and gos through the turbo.

Dont run the box on more than 3-4 for daily use or you will quickly say bye bye to your motor.

I can make smoke if I want too,1300rpm full throttle the guy behind me has to put his wipers on to clear the diesel....lol.
Is that why the probe is on that side...makes sense.

What will I hurt by running it on 7 all the time if im always watching the temps?
