Ive seen em overfuel and wash out the liners. The shaking you are seeing is not advanced timing, it is to much fuel at idle.

Did you even talk to them when you bought it???? they flat out tell you that you can't run it on the higher numbers without a highly modified motor. that's okay though someone needs to support the factory engine reman programs

    Brickman Thanks this.

I didn't buy it right from Pittsburg themselves. Bought it from one of their dealers. I have talked to them before though and they said that with just putting thier turbo on I could run it on level 7. I don't understand how it could be too much fuel if the temps aren't getting too hot. With the pyro in the manifold i should be safe running the temps at 1250 all day long if i want. Is that not correct? Im not saying you guys are wrong I just want to understand why.

I already have the pittsburg power so for more power am I beter off with or without it?

You are not always fine if the temps are good, level 7 is alot of fuel out of that box and the exhaust temps will rise quickly without the pyro or you noticing, you need a turbo for that level 7. They tend to wash the liners out or score them from to much fuel, thats their problem, ive seen them do it without getting hot too.

If you wanna build huge power and have the motor last then get rid of the box, get some injectors and a ecm flash from your neigbor DDS.

wouldn't it still be smoking if it was too much fuel?

550 am I wrong thinking that the guy from pitsburg was saying up to level 4 on stock, 5 and 6 with there turbo, and level 7 was basically for pulling and truck drag type applications to be used for short bursts of power and not prolonged use?

mabey I'm mistaken but that's what I remember

I always figured that if you had much more fuel then air then it would smoke. Also if the box puts out that much fuel wouldn't it be capable of much more power then listed on the site? I've called them before looking for more power and they said they could reprogram the box for more power but it wouldn't be streetable.

Is there anyway to get a hold of DDS since I don't think I can PM him can I?

In my experience and this is only my opinion,
You get what you pay for looks like you wanted the most HP for the least $$$$$ thats what you got.
I spent too much compaired to what you can get in the States it cost me $14,500us and it works well I have just had to make a few small and inexspenive changes.
Horse Power will cost go and get a bigger turbo spend some money if you what power and see what happens.

It will smoke yes, mine smokes but its not pure raw diesel spewing out of the pipes. Problem with the box is it ####### the living crap out of the timing along with the fuel being added, it doesent add "that" much fuel but the high exhaust temps will come from retarded timing, you wont even know when and your engine will be toast.

So the fuel added is not being burnt throughly.

Al thats what i remember em saying, level 7 was for dyno or pulling..... Short bursts basically.
