You should stop at every mile marker a do a walkaround to ensure your equipment is is tip top shape.
On what basis would you fight this? You had a flat, you were put OOS until fixed. There is obviously a paper trail from the violation to the tire repair to the officer lifting the OOS.
There is no basis to having the violation reduced to something non-OOS.
Question about CSA violation.

I had the same thing happen to me several years ago. I did a pre-trip and by the time I got to the weigh station 30 miles down the road, one of my inside trailer tires had taken on a sharp object resulting in a nearly flat tire. They pulled me in, performed a full inspection and put me out of service for the tire.
Later on I went through DataQ and challenged the oos on the basis of the tire wasn't flat when I performed the pre-trip and I didn't know. They replied a couple of weeks later essentially saying, too bad.TequilaSunrise, tlalokay and TheRipper Thank this. -
Haha yeah, I understand. It just seems unjust!

Yeah, that's pretty much what I figured. We need unions to boycott CSA for stuff like this.

You thump the tires at your stop before? One of those situations where you will probably not win. It was okay when you left, you picked up debris, they saw a flat tire. Loaded/Unloaded?
TheRipper Thanks this. -
No Union could have prevented you pulling in to a weigh station with a flat tire
-
Loaded with 9,000 in the box. And yep, thumped when I checked the load of windows.
-
I get that. But can you tell what your trailer tires are doing all the time? Can you prevent road debris? If you can, you're better than me...happy ex-driver Thanks this.
