Hahaha.....stopped in Vernon, Tx for my 30 and was talking to another one our drivers. Asked me if I wanted to swap loads. His load picks up here at Tyson going to Olathe. I said no thanks and be safe in that ice storm. He said that's why he was trying to swap.

It must be bad. The changed the time off the NFL playoff in Kansas City to Sunday night to avoid it.
Playoff game. Another good reason not to go to Olathe Kansas this weekend...MachoCyclone Thanks this. -
Had a close deer miss this morning. The dash cam is so high up it doesn't look that close but from where I sit that deer disappeared behind my grill. Lol
-
They're expecting one and a half inches of ice

I had a close call just before Christmas. So close in fact that I had some of the Deer's fur in the bevel on my side marker light and some dirt brushed off and that was all..CannonballAA Thanks this.

Hey all. Have finally finished reading parts one & "deux." I want to thank you all for all the great, honest, & straightforward information I've gleaned from this. Not to mention all the LOL moments, sometimes accompanied by coffee squirting out of my nose!
Recently my backseat driver (aka my wife) and I have been contemplating a move from our current company. As I'm an old fart, we were considering one last attempt at a lease purchase, and between reading this thread & doing a ton of research (things we never did in previous attempts), we think JCT may be the way to go. I see from this thread that JCT's program can be successful for me, with the right mindset, controlling the things I can (i.e. mpg's & fueling), and good advice from you all.
Although I've read all 1100+ pages, I still have questions, and know this is the right place to ask.
I still have to organize the notes I took while reading this thread, but my first question is about finding a relatively simple explanation for running recaps. I've never had any reason to before, in my 10+ years on the road.
Thanks in advance for your help. -
Basically try to run 8 hours everyday end you never run out of hours.
dhkwanderer and OldMuleskinner Thank this. -
It's that simple? Lol, you should work for JJ Keller- their explanation was so freaking complicated. Thanks
-
It sounds simple but running reefer makes it more difficult.

What crxdc said. 70 hours divided by 8 days equals 8 hours 45 minutes per day. If you run that amount of hours or less each day, you'll never need a reset. Run more than that in a day, and you'll have to keep an eye on your available hours and how much you're recapping. JCT by the way does a relatively good job of assigning loads that work with the hours you have available..with a few exceptions of course.
MachoCyclone, OldMuleskinner and crxdc Thank this.
