Personally never hauled a werner pup. but have hauled werner trailers to next door from our terminal too a grocery warehouse unload pallets of cardboard boxes. Reason for that. Werner driver ran out of hours. it's just easier to do then, waste time to unload and reload a ABF trailer. driver gets in sleep time and empty trailer when they are good to go.

I see the truckload carriers pulling ABF and YRC pups frequently out of Carlisle, PA. A few UPSF linehaul drivers I used to chat with at a shared meet point in western PA used to tell me how much UPSF is using O/O and other carriers (e.g. Barr Nunn) to pull their vans.

Crst has been trying to get my wife and I to run yrc doubles for a while now. They are actually willing to pay pretty well for a company driver position. They were offering .48cpm and home weekends for at minimum a 34 reset more if you get in early. They claimed a minimum of 5000 miles a week because their contract with yellow required that or the rate per mile went up. The only reason I said no to that job was because I recently purchased my own Truck and I am trying my hand as a o/o

Team pay confuses people. But it works out the same . .48 for the miles you drive , or .24 for all miles the truck moves (given both drive equal number of miles).

There is another thread on here about this topic. Pointed out in that one , that these subs did not buy trucks just to fill in.

Yes it is split pay. You get paid for half of all the miles that the truck moves regardless of who drives them. Yes crst does have breakdown and layover pay. I am not saying that they are the best paying company out there, which is why I am not currently workingoing there, but I would have been drooling over .48 my first year driving. Don't forget that you don't have to have years of experience to hire on there. And it is .48 on 3000 miles per week, as they trip plan for 6000 and home for a 34 every weekend.
