Not turning at that intersection. Next to the Peterbilt is a four wheeler turning left. Dash cam truck was waiting for that car to turn, as to not block the intersection.

There is nothing that "dash cam truck" did that makes one tiny iota of difference in the fact that the idiot in the big truck was acting like a total jack arse. There is no excuse for driving like that under ANY circumstance.
Now if the car that was "blocking" billy big frig was actually broken down, I could see maybe, depending on ALL the circumstances, going around it and C A R E F U L L Y making that left turn.LandslideRich, MACK E-6, Lepton1 and 5 others Thank this. -

Its a small world....
I happen to know the trucker with the dashcam...
@NorthernMechanic ... My take is that if he had proceeded any further, his trailer would have blocked those in the opposing lane's desire to turn left. So, for the sake of safety, he chose to "NOT BLOCK THE INTERSECTION".
It's similar to not stopping over railway tracks...you put safety first....the blame lies with the impatient pete, who now has to deal with the consequences
and as @Big Don said...things would have been different IF the black sedan was broken down, and the Pete trucker had "waited too long" as he claimed...maybe there would be an iota of liniency...lol...but as we all know...CDL drivers are "PROFESSIONAL" therefore must control emotions at all times

For some reason my brain interpreted the video weird. First time through I thought the left turning car was directly in front of the dash cam truck. So I was scratching my head as to why the dash cam truck was sitting there with no where to go. Brain fart moment.tbdieseltrucking Thanks this.

if y'all posted this and I missed it, i apologize... this part is what broke my heart. My kids are older but still almost the same apart in age. Those kids..... #####. F that "purty Pete" ... his choice. They make more of those, but .... somebody's kids... irreplaceable. He just ruined many a life. THANK GOD they are all alive. Yeah, even him. He can suffer this down.
DADES CITY, Fla. (WFLA) – Dayanara Aguilar Gabriel is only 9-years-old but she has quite the story to tell.
It is a story of survival, and it’s caught on camera. She was on a Pasco County school bus coming home from school when a terrifying crash took place.
Dayanara was there in the middle of it, watching it firsthand. She had fallen asleep when a big rig slammed into the bus.
“I saw, and I said, ‘what happened?’ They told me what happened, that we crashed,” she told News Channel 8.
Luckily, everyone on board the bus survived the terror.
However, the teacher on board, who just so happens to be this little girl’s favorite, went flying across the aisle.
“I was crying. I was thinking that we weren’t going to go home, and I got scared a lot,” she said.
Also on board the bus was Dayanara’s little brother, who is autistic.
Dayanara quickly try to comfort him. She said, “I got scared and my brother did too. But, he covered his ears.”
News Channel 8 showed the children’s mother at the video Wednesday night. It was the first time she had seen it.
Her face registered shock, anguish and raw emotion.
Adriana Aguilar softly uttered the words, “Oh my God.” Then, she hugged her little girl who was standing nearby.
“I say thank you God that nothing happened to my daughter or my son.”
The driver of the big rig has been cited in this case.
When we reached out to his family, they told us that he was frustrated that the car in front of him was allegedly taking way too long at the light.
Witnesses say that’s no excuse.
“That shouldn’t have happened. He should have waited,” one woman said. “He could have killed them.”tbdieseltrucking, 51.50, drvrtech77 and 3 others Thank this. -
I'll bet he's one of those guys that wears fingerless leather driving gloves, drinks 10 cans of Monster a day, drives 30 mph in the parking lot, and talks on his hands free at the urinal.
LandslideRich, Lepton1, dunchues and 1 other person Thank this. -
^^^^ and sweats and flip flops? I've never been able to do that, hauling hot asphalt and the occasional precast on the snow days. I drive a similar Pete, and respect the HELL out of it. That was sheer recklessness. And yeah, I drink a Monster in the afternoon when my midnight/morning coffee wears off.
And, I wear a blue tooth. Connected to a flip-phone. Company policy = no texting. I've got a tablet if need be, IN THE BACK.tbdieseltrucking and Crude Truckin' Thank this. -
Ya copy that. I drink one a day, I wear my Blue Parrott in the truck, and dress for work. Steel toe boots, fire retardant clothes, and my ball cap! Oilfield tanker yanker. But I'm sure you know the "supertrucker type" I was referring to, lol!
Lepton1 Thanks this.
