Put a decent tyre inflation or in cab measuring system on it and blowouts are a thing off the past.
As a bonus, tyres will allways be at the right psi.
Will save in tyrewear.critical-mass Thanks this. -
Couple of bungie cord's to hold your tool box's doors shut.

Until you run over a piece of steel.Oxbow, Bo Hunt, snowman_w900 and 7 others Thank this.

So lets say you run over a piece off steel with your dual tires.
Deflates one tire.
How long before the single remaining tire blows because it is overheating?
^^There are no 100% fail safe options.^^
But having a in cab measuring system works.
I have had one for years, have you?
Have had the misfortune off a piece off steel entering and starting to deflate a tire.
Because i knew it soon enough i was able limp to a repairshop. -
You quoted cke who was talking about super singles, hit a piece of steel with a super single your dead on the water inflation system or not.Oxbow, snowman_w900 and MJ1657 Thank this.

Maybe i should have made it clear.............i run singles.
No way will i ever put duals on a trailer. -
Whatever you decide on the box's, I would highly suggest going with a cam style door.
No chance of something getting wedged in the locking bars from the inside and having to break into your own stuff.
I've never seen a operating lock and key on a normal box that works for any amount of time.
With these just get a matched set of paddle locks with one key for everything. When they go to heck just get more.
No bungy cords required.Gwh1184, snowman_w900, Lepton1 and 7 others Thank this. -
I run duals. No way I will ever put singles on a trailer.
Limping a blowout is one reason n personally I think they look unattractive.
I won't try to convince you to change: do me the same favor.Oxbow, mtoo, johndeere4020 and 2 others Thank this. -
Blew a trailer tire on a van last summer. Had 5k lbs in the box not even close to overloading the single tire. Had this been a single I would've had to spend $400 on a road call as the nearest tire shop was 40 miles away. Instead I spent $50 to have my spare mounted in their shop.
Peeled it off my self on the side of the highway and rolled the next 40 miles without a thought.
Can't do this with a single.
Oxbow, KenworthGuyNH, Lepton1 and 5 others Thank this.
