Couldn't agree more. Truly not in business for the long run. Poor management philosophy. Unfortunately fly by night operation. I started with one truck and now have thirty 2013-2015 truck on he road hauling refers east to west. I sacrificed and learned many things. Although this journey wasn't easy but I wanted to be different. I pay my drivers .53 a mile I provide great medical insurance, dental, vision. Just started an excellent 401k for all my employees. Be delight in searching for a carrier.

Started with a phone interview. Did my training. Got paid the next Friday for the two days I worked the previous week starting. Paid every Friday by direct deposit since. $50 a week for health, pre tax deductible weekly. Truck breaks, they pay for it. Not me. If the local mechanic in boston can't fix it.. paid by the hour to truck it to Home office in NY and paid per diem @55cpm and food for return trip. Can't get me home? Minimum 4 star hotel. It can be done. You're too cheap to get it done, or cannot manage your finances. I managed towing companies. You don't want to know the thin margins and heavy upfront capital needed. One truck to revcover those disgusting chicgaoland trucks? 1 million dollars without equipment and without a highly educated trained driver. And you don't want to know how much you have to pay and spoil that driver as you cannot just put any monkey in that seat. One mistake operating that truck could cost you your WHOLE company. So wah

You got to remember it is not just the pay or the equip. Like JJkid pointed out your CSA is horrible this is a red flag for those looking for a trucker looking for a stable job. My hubby is constantly talking about pay that companies offer but then talks about the CSA and how it plays a role in his decision to either keep them as an opition or not.

Well, my first big company probably will have a crappy csa. But I need experience, and well, I can turn a wrench and change a lightbulb unlike most new drivers.

You also knownenough about trucks that if something is wrong you are able to figure it out. Second, well yeah but you will chose the less of the bunch you have been combing through.

Just wanted to say that this is a really good post, thank you.

Also wanted to add that a company needs to stand out in some way to get a good driver.
    Pick one...
    Great equipment
    Above average pay
    Health benefits
    Quick pay options
    Guaranteed min

Something, anything. You're not bringing anything at all to the table

Looking at the FMCSA website they still are. It appears there safety score has went down from a 1.70 to a 1.20 from June till December which is a good thing. I just looked a little further and between those months they still have received tons of log book violations.

NO WAY I would drive for this "Company".

And accident can be written off with insurance, and at the end of the year, it's going to be written off anyway.

I have NEVER had a "Company" withHold any amount of money from my check for a "screwup".

It's called "cost of doing business".
