The only way they could find them is do social security check which truckin companies aren't going that far only high sercurty jobs are doing that, and they can't even do that without your permission.or if they run your credit and you bought a car or anything on credit they can see what employer you put down when applying for credit Now when you get into truckin there's a company called hire right that truckin and there are some non truckin companies report to,then when changing jobs some can contract hire right to see past truckin jobs.

If you have ever went to the Social Security Administration you can get a printout of every job you ever filled out w4's at.Guess what so can they! Best to list everything, leave no gaps.If there is gaps explain unemployed with dates. They typicall don't care if you quit McDonald's because it Sucked.More concerned about driving jobs with a CDL,so they can find out oh,he hit a pole at Werner, got a reckless driving ticket at Knight,he's left that job out...trying to cover his butt.Any job that effects their insurance.The_Great_Corn and G13Tomcat Thank this.

Amazing how many people on this website don't believe they can do that. Just look at the replies.
The 3 jobs I mentioned all required me to drive a motor vehicle on public roads as a necessary aspect of the job duties, so according the to that section of the FMCSR, they are required to investigate my safety record at those jobs.
I'm glad I asked before getting the boot at an orientation for leaving these jobs off my application.BUMBACLADWAR and Chinatown Thank this. -
No they can't pull your social security without your permission.and no truckin companies don't spend that amount of money and time to do that. And you show the paragraph in the fmcsa where it states a truckin company has to investigate all of your job history .ill wait to see what you come up withLast edited: Jan 28, 2017
bottomdumpin Thanks this. -
No trucking Company is going to investigate EVERY job that you might have had. My BIL has put me down as a previous employer when I have NEVER owned a truck. Guess what happened? A phone call and thanks have a nice day. That's it. No visit from the man, Nothing. Companies are required to investigate previous employers as best as they can. So why would they dig up more work for themselves? They need that seat filled as quick as they can. You will need to fill in the empty spots though.

What about attending a cdl school and leaving after a week to go to another you need to list that too?
-
I believe when you sign up to get hired, they have your permission to do what they want.,background check, medical records, driving records, credit check, drug tests etc.Ke6gwf Thanks this.

You believe. No one can get your medical records from you putting in an application,no one can get into your social security information by you putting in a job application.no one can check your drivers record without you signing a form giving your permission that is a different form from a simple job application.and I can guarantee no one on here has ever signed a release form for truckin job that gave a truckin company the ability to get into your social security account truckin companies don't go that far.i know some want to think that truck drivers are this important but your not going to work for the FBI.bottomdumpin and styro Thank this.

Each of these checks require a separate form w/ signature. Esspecially credit and medical. I have never heard of an employer do a medical records check, those are extremely personal with many laws and regulations governing the dissemination of them at the state and federal levels. An employer can require a physical but they CANNOT access medical records, even with the applicants permission, it is against the law to even ask.bottomdumpin Thanks this.
