I think I'm close to needing a clutch switch too. I'm having to pump the clutch several times to get it going lately. Your issue definitely sounds like a starter issue, but no idea why they wouldn't of checked that at dealer #1.Cledus Snow Thanks this.

I didn't want to mess with jumping the starter...with my luck I would screw up the electronics and void warranty. I called for roadside and asked for a pull start.
I hate idling my truck, my idle percentage is less than 5%. I've only idled overnight once since I got the truck. And that was because of this same problem. I had to regen the next morning and that is the only time this truck has ever had to do that too.
I'm on my way to freightliner and hopefully get this fixed once and for all. -
2017, got it the first week last June.

I've heard good things about them too. I've had good luck with the Madison, WI dealer too.drvrtech77 Thanks this.

Hit the starter with a hammer or screwdriver

Is it auto?

I've got an auto 2017..no issues with starting...

No ive already been pull started and will be at freightliner in the am. Sorry for the rant, just venting how horrible the tech are at these places. If a computer doesn't tell them what to do they are lost and just throw parts at the problem...at our expense of course.

Tell them to check and advise only....and then you can decide the route you want to go. Also, Freightliner dealers have a battery tester that will print out the results for warranty purposes, so next time tell them you want to see the report. I always made a printout any time I tested batteries regardless, protects everyone in the process that way.
