Im not saying don't get a new truck. Just don't do it based on some sales gimmick line of "an old truck blows a new truck payment out the stacks every month". That simply isn't true.drvrtech77 and scottlav46 Thank this.

A lot of it comes down to how the owner maintains the equipment... So it doesn't matter if it's an old truck or new truck if the owner doesn't maintain it then pretty much the fuel mileage is going to suck regardless and I'll be lucky if they aren't in the shop every weekspyder7723, tony97905 and SingingWolf Thank this.

I don't even know why he's comparing, if he's coming to choice he can't bring an old truck even if he wanted to. Landstar, and most companies are requiring a 2000 or newer truck anyways. I'm guessing Mercer is the same?
