I'll give you the trick I use. I measure paces from the hole it is to where I want it. I put a glove on the driver's step, then pace from there and drop a glove there on the ground. I back or pull until the glove lines up. As long as the tandems don't roll or skid, it should be near the hole I want. If it is not exactly lined up, release the slider, and pull or push to lock it in.
