So I'm backing into a bay the other day and as I'm backing into the door another driver wasn't paying attention and presses the button to close the door and the door closes on the top of my trailer Completely was NOT my fault as I was already partly in the door when he started closing it.
Just found out that it was counted as a preventable against me. Is this something I could argue against and possibly have it removed or does it just sound like I'm SOL ?

Who ruled it preventable, maverick?
-
Yeah, they ruled it as a preventable and it's bugging the heck out of me lol.

If they have a board of drivers to appeal as some companies do then have at. If not it's kinda a no win. Things happen what was the damagespassingthru69 Thanks this.

No damage to the trailer but the bay door got bent up a little bit. I'm going to call and talk to them on Monday about it regardless. Just never been in a situation like this and didn't know if these sorts of things usually work out in the drivers favor or not ?
-
Can't answer that but just see what you can do and remember it happens.
-
Yeah, I'll call them and give it a shot. If not then it's not the end of the world. Thanks for the advice !

Why did the other driver even hit the button. They are not an employee there and had no reason to do that
Me, I would fight that tooth and nail. Good luckJOHNQPUBLIC and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
I have no idea, all the buttons for the bay doors are located at the same place on one side of the bay so I guess he wasn't paying attention and hit the close button on me because he didn't look to see if anyone was backing in. I'm going to try though, believe me !passingthru69 Thanks this.

Only in trucking does it count against a driver for someone else damaging the truck.
