MODS, I am posting this here because this is where I am most active and my friends are. Apologies if this is inappropriate.
This has not been an easy decision, nor one I have made lightly. After 20 years as an owner, partner, or company driver in the car haul business, 27 total as an active professional driver, I have decided to make some major changes. I will no longer be operating a car haul business, or driving car carriers as of Feb. 24th. I will still operate my DOT safety and compliance consulting business, Fleet Compliance Solutions, but as of March 6th, 2017 my primary focus will be working for Worldwide Equipment Sales of California as a traveling salesman and product demonstrator.
I have been offered, and accepted, a position servicing California and New Mexico representing the Jerr-Dan Towing Equipment and Landoll Trailer brands. Although Worldwide is a leading distributor of Cottrell car haulers the southwestern US is not part of our franchise territory so I will not be selling car haulers at this time, except some used ones we take in trade and of course the Jerr-Dan 3 & 4 car rollback series.
I will always have a spot in my heart for my fellow car haulers and hope to remain active in these forums, the industry from behind the scenes, and of course remain in touch with my friends. Please keep me in mind should you find yourself in need of any guidance, advice, or maybe even a new piece of towing equipment.
Thanks for the good times, stay safe, keep the shiny side up, and most of all stay profitable.
Brian

I wish you all the best in your new endeavor. As we age, the mind remains stubborn and tells us to just keep going as always, but the body says, "Nope, it aint happening." I doubt I'll ever truly retire, stubborn German in me I guess, I'll likely just keep farming till I'm called home....
