When I was a driver, the brokers always called me. I feel that the drivers or business partners don't need to be bothered with calls all the time asking them where they are at. I'm sorry that you feel that way. In-cab solutions is the future of this industry. Truckers need to accept the new way. The old days are dying. I appreciate all the help and now have something to offer.
-
Im with you on that in cab technology. Near future is going to bring a lot of changes. Uber like systems are being designed for the transportation industry.
-
I might have a truck or two available soon. I will be in Houston next week. Perhaps we can meet. I'm entertaining a couple options out of Houston at present.
-
Look me up on FB if you in the area. I have no problem discussing business. Also, the future truck that I have already ordered is much more efficient and going to change the way we all think about trucking. I want to change this industry for the better. Offer better software to manage and track my business. Provide the best comforts for my drivers. It's time drivers become important and not stress about fuel, their load, or when they are going to see their family next. I'm building the transportation company of the future.

Had my suspicions

Your changing it or trying to that's for sure at 34%. When I was 19 I drove a company log truck for 33.3% of 100% of what each load paid. Only expense I had was a new lunch bucket every couple years.Snailexpress Thanks this.
-
The 34% was something I was thinking cause from my calculations the driver is still making money. Then OO pays a portion of the fuel, so he doesn't lose so much. Also since the truck is under my authority how is it fair for the OO to provide everything. Taking the liability away allows the driver just to drive and enjoy his family. That's what I want to change. I can't stand the old way of this industry. The only reason it was designed like that was GREED. I'm not greedy. It's time the driver becomes important and not the company. I use spreadsheets and formulas to design my company. Numbers don't lie. As long as we all make money there is not a problem.

You should really read the mandate more thoroughly. Specifically the part about exemptions.
Hurstramblingman and Pnwtrucker Thank this. -
I will no exempt anyone from haveing the in-cab solutions in the truck; I will always make that a mandatory. They In-cab tracks and provides a lot of useful data. Also, it helps keep everyone honest. I feel that a lot of accidents and mistakes are caused by improper management. It's time for a change. You don't lose much with the ELD. It helps keep the people on the road safe. Also as a business owner, there is a lot of data you need to keep track of, Instead of relying on the driver to support the data you need. You implement a way to pull the data. You know to become a SmartWay partner you need to now what the total gallons, miles, weight, amongst other things. It's different when you have to worry about one truck than multiple. Thank you, Hurst.
