So what about the wear and tear on the O/O truck? If I wear my rig out pulling for you at 34% what do we do when all I have left is a pile of scrap. Talk about GREED you know there is way more to owning a truck than fuel expense that you are willing to split
What is a good amount to offer a owner operator

Doesn't matter but I'm kinda confused. You think a o/o can make $ at 34% of the load? What are you providing that you feel you deserve 66% of each load? I have never been leased to a company so I honestly have no experience in lease deal. But from what I'm reading you must get your spreadsheets and formulas from total quality logistics. But then you say taking the liability away allows the driver to just drive. Do you want drivers or o/o?Mattflat362, Ruthless and 2CAN Thank this. -
I agree to wear and tear on the truck. So what I would do is take a specific amount per mile and put it into an account that allows the O/O to use for repairs.
-
Absolutely not. I own the truck I make those decisions. You want lease operators not owner operators.MJ1657, Mattflat362, Ruthless and 8 others Thank this.

No it's my truck I can save my own $ for maintenance. Why should you earn interest on my maintenance account? If I can't set aside $ for maintenance either I don't have any business owning a truck or I'm working for way to cheap aka I have no business owning a truck.Mattflat362, 2CAN, Hurst and 1 other person Thank this.

Why would I let you keep my money for repairs to MY truck.
Mattflat362, Hurst and Pnwtrucker Thank this. -
Good luck with that. I dont see any experienced old school guys ever knocking down on your door.
But who knows. This new breed of drivers dont know what it used to be like. So once you train and heard sheep through specific pastures,.. they pretty much go and do as you want them to do. I'm no sheep.
You will find that you get what you pay for in this industry.

I want reliable drivers that don't deny loads. I've experienced plenty of times when a driver says "no I'm not taking that load." When I bid on a load or accept it, I make sure we are all making money. There could be times you run a lot of miles, and the load pays horribly. That's why a percentage of the load allows everyone to make money. You have to understand I want to take full liability. I expect very little in regards my O/O. All i want them to do is haul the load that's really it.
-
The reality is tho they are doing and providing everything. You've stated you have no contracts. I could pay 10% for a dispatcher and run under my own authority or I could spend $300 on load boards a month run my own authority pick my own loads negotiate my own rates and I'm done. Save 66% in feesbowhunter67 Thanks this.

You would be better off just buying some trucks and getting drivers. Myself being a o/op it's my truck and I decide what to do with it not being dictated too with what I can make or have to give someone for a repair account.
2CAN, Hurst and Pnwtrucker Thank this.
