I had a truck heading to Everett out of SLC this weekend, saw what was happening with weather and routed him thru Portland, yes it was extra mileage, but it got there in one piece, still had some black ice up along the river gorge.

Looking out the second floor window in Sumner, WA on Monday morning, it looks like we got about 3-4 inches of accumulated snow overnight. However, the main thoroughfares seems to be moving as normal.
-
As of 09:00 local time Monday, both EB and WB sides of Snoqualamie are closed with no estimated time or day of reopening. I would love to be a bird high on a pole watching the follies at the TA in North Bend, WA today.
Certainly the "via Portland" option is becoming more viable, even for loads originating from or bound to Minnesota and similar northern points along I-90/I-94 but I've not yet looked at Pendleton to Nampa conditions, or Wyoming I-80 conditions yet but I suspect they may be very bad too in the days to come, at least until after mid week.
You can be sure Pocatello to Bozeman is a bear too given all the snow they're getting and forecast to get in the Yellowstone and south-central Montana area.

KANSAS TRANSIT and IH Truck Guy Thank this. -
light rain in Portland area so far
KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this. -
WSDOT is done with avalanche control and hopes to have snow removed and both sides open by around 14:00 Monday. But chains will probably be required still, I suspect.
KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this. -
did the snow level get below 500' ?
-
Just turned them loose on Snoqualmie (I-90) Chains req for all but 4x4's.... Let the mayhem commence.....
-
It snowed 4 inches down in the Sea/Tac area overnight, so yes it did. Snow threat for under 500 feet is probably over for the time being however the mountains will likely get more snow through at least Tuesday afternoon
-
Just happend to check snoqualamie status ... closed all Wednesday night both directions. The snow just won't stop there. At least donner area is getting a temporary reprieve this week.
Meanwhile. Trucks trying to avoid Snoqualamie by routing south through the Columbia river gorge must deal with the follies of the ODOT and I-84.
It's almost like Oregon is mad about all the extra traffic and had a hissy fit and said "fine. Good luck driving on our mal-kept roads. We'll teach you."stuckinthemud and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this. -
Bad news...all Washington passes will remain closed tonight as well. I haven't seen what the forecast conditions are for OR I-84 yet, but I know it was pretty bad down there last night. We had two drivers that were supposed to meet in Moses Lake reroute and end up meeting in Arlington, OR, where one driver ran out of hours, and the other one only made it back to the Tri-Cities area. I-84 westbound was closed last night due to multiple crashes.
