Ever see a line break with an UN Pinned deck? Anyone who goes under a raised unpinned deck is an idiot.

But... but... but... my manhood is threatened if it takes me longer than the next guy to load!Pullin2, passingthru69, Toomanybikes and 5 others Thank this.

But you know it's true! That and laziness drive most of the stupid stuff we see! I always 4-chained/strapped, and it costs minimal time if you always do it that way. But every day I see guys who have no problem with 1 strap on cars in the center of the load, to save 5 minutes per load. SMHcanadianredneck, passingthru69, MooneyBravo and 2 others Thank this.

I've seen guys 1/2 chain just about every unit on the rig, except the Ranger in the belly which had no chains. That unit wound up on the stinger when he had to slam on the brakes due to a red light Runner.

I try to 100% but honestly it doesn't happen. I'd say 90-95%. Loading always but sometimes I get lazy unloading and don't pin everything. I use 4 straps 100% of the time.

Yes
I have seen a deck come down twice in my life and one was on my trailer. I'll never forget it. It was at the Colorado Springs Auto Auction. They don't come down very often but when they do, you don't want to be under them. I usually leave the empty decks unpinned. I've heard drivers make a big fuss about having to pin decks. I don't believe it takes 2 minutes to walk around your truck, pin the decks and then unpin them. Another classic case of lazy drivers looking for a short cut. I use an adjustable broom handle with a threaded end that I bought at Home Depot. When I'm done, I store it down through the front of the tandem deck and down through the lever station.

A potential corpse, a few people may feel sorry for you.
But a mangled roof & you live. People will never let you forget.
