OK so did you have this truck checked out like have a good mechanic go through it, maybe a dyno and ecm dump?

I am just curious as to how you keep the injectors from rusting up. If you leave your truck outside for a month or so and don't run it the humidity gets under the hood and starts to rust things whether its on a truck or car or farm tractor it happens.

The injectors are inside the engine. The only way they could rust is if the head had problems, such as leaking injector cups.

There are other ways, if the crank is in the right position, and the intake or exhaust valves are open, water can actually get in. In the case of the intake valves being open, there has to more than just that - maybe the turbo was off.

Well yes water can run into the engine if left with the manifolds off, with the hood open, in the rain. But I doubt that happened here with a truck under factory warranty.

Nope. The only way an injector can stick open due to rust is if the outside of the plunger is rusted up. Fuel doesn't touch that part. Internally, it would have to be almost straight water to cause corrosion. Fuel is made from petroleum, it naturally is corrosion resistant. In fact when fuel was cheap we used to use it to prevent rust on metal.

When is all said and done, I'm betting you find out the truck was ran hot, blew a head gasket or cracked the head, caused an injector cup issue, and the owner let it get repo'd or traded it in. It sat and this is the result.
