Thank God some drivers have seen the light.
-
Who fed you that tripe? -
Someone named Hoffa should know the answer.

Yeah, its all the unions fault. It is never the leaders fault. Like GM, who never batted an eye in handing out those cushy contracts the UAW got all those years, or not adjusting to changing market trends, or attempting to improve quality.
Or to bring it back to the trucking world, it was the high paid truckers earning those big bucks, not the management at PTS that brought them down. It was totally resonable to pay skilling 12 million a year to run a company that was shedding money left and right. #### those greedy teamsters. Of course, while bennies and work rules are different, it isn't a problem that lots of non union drivers hauling new cars for URS, Accurate, PGMT, etc., make upwards of 100K. Because they take cash instead of bennies, that makes them okay. -
Oh, by the way, what union was it that brought down, all the financial companies?
-
It was both the union and GM's (or any US car maker) fault, they are both corrupt. The union does what the union wants, it does not care about it's members want. GM's job is to make money to pay the share holders, that;s the bottom line. The union should be there to support the worker, but ust look at the overhead cost of the UAW.
I work at a union shop and see what the union does for me, zip.......
Markknighton5 Thanks this. -
I don't doubt your negative experiences. However, having been union, now non union, they may do little, but probably not zip. You might be suprised if you went non union. I am not some union always, ever, do or die....I just see the terrible conditions that currently exist in this industry, and want to see them addressed. I recognize that many union leaders are just businessmen themselves, out to make their buck off of the rank and file, as do many of the pro union voices here, if you go back and read their posts over time. But it doesn't change the fact that roadway and the like beat swift, werner, sni, j.b., etc, as places to work. -
I'll give one of the bad experiences that I personally know of. One of our union brothers was unfairly punished by a mid level manager. At step one of the grievance process upper management admitted fault but refused to punish mid level manager per company policy. Grievance went to step 2 and that got no place with management. Union steward told his union brother we can't win this and it's way to much paper work for me go to step 3, so lets drop it.
