I was just teasing you @lilillill. Thanks for posting pics and description on how you did the fuel pressure gauge.

Thanks to the OP for starting this thread. I am probably going to do this to mine when I get time.

If you want a gauge that reads over 100lbs., your only option is Teltek. I'm eventually going to install a higher pressure transducer and calibrate my gauge to read 50% of actual. I don't care for the look of Teltek gauges myself.

For right now, my fuel pressure is a little low. I suspected as much, which is why I installed the fuel and boost gauges to begin with.

    SAR Thanks this.

What about the genuine Caterpillar gauge like I've got.

Cat dealers here don't seem to have them or know how to get one. I've asked at three different dealers about getting some gauges... Nada...

That is a mechanical gauge though, isn't it? I wouldn't put one of those in the cab. A lot of fuel can come through an 1/8 inch line at 100lbs.

I don't like the looks of the Teltek gauges either. The one you have installed looks real nice.

Do you suspect your fuel pump is getting weak or shimming the pump spring would help your pressures?

Shimming the spring would probably help but the fuel pump is original and has over a million miles on it. I've got 75lbs at idle and 85lbs at full tilt. I'm going to replace that and the fuel pressure regulator next time home.

Stewart Warner makes a mechanical gauge that goes up to 200psi. It pretty well matches the older Peterbilt gauges.

    SAR and lilillill Thank this.

Incidently, if you get by McDonough, GA much, Summit Racing has truck parking and they stock all of the AutoMeter gauges.

I-75, exit 216 on the east side of the highway.

What's the point in disconnecting the fuel temperature sensor? Just curious.
