Thats why my wife and I do absolutely no online anything. I have never typed my social security number, credit card number or anything like that into a computer ever. There is a funny song someone created on YouTube called "the internet is for porn". All I use it for is entertainment and communication. My kids roll their eyes at the "old man scared of technology". But its all I know how to do to minimize the threat from hackers and scams. I know I'm not totally in the clear...but I just don't trust the web. I've even refused to apply for jobs, in the past when I was looking, because they only took applications online. Just not going to put my info out there like that any more than I have to. We have no automatic bill pay options either for the same reasons.Last edited: Feb 17, 2017

Got one of those calls from a Florida number yesterday.

I got a call from "Robert" at the Canada Revenue Agency. Source of the call was South Carolina. He said I owed taxes and was facing jail time for it and I could pay with gift cards. Told him to go ahead and call the cops because he was obviously full of ####.
peterd Thanks this. -
I have a real hatred for scammers, I have google voice, call record, and have recorded a few scammers, He claimed to be from the tech department of windows and detected I had a computer problem, funny thing is I haven't had a windows computer in years And I felt very uncomfortable with windows monitoring my computer anyways, lol

Nairobi is not a country.

That's not the point! No need to dissect the comment. Point was the scammer will contact you claiming to represent a king or some other high party official whom his fleeing his country for a host of reasons and want you to provide a bank account for them to shield their money......for a cut of course....
Geeze....lol -
Lol, sorry I missed your point.
