Stryker Sr 955 hpc

This doesn't sound anything like what I hear going down the road. I still get goosebumps when I listen to it. I was hoping to hear the same audio quality out of yours. It is music to my ears.

 

I have the 655 as well. I was going to get the 955 but I'm not a SSB kinda guy. You could superglue me on channel 19 and I might not ever notice. The 655 is my favorite radio ever and I had CBs way before smokey and the freakin bandit. mine swings around 80

 

Its a 955 with marks tune..There is a video..Only thing i did was clean a connection and plug it back in..No biggie no need for a vid..

 

There's a guy that lives about 25 miles north of me that just bought one, and he sounds great with the sra-198 microphone.
Here's a video of him using it on Side Band to talk to somebody in Puerto Rico.

 

So you're saying these radio's are only doing 42.42 watts peak?

 

Wattage aint the end all be all....Depending on the tune/coax/ant set up a lil 4 watt radio can usually do better that whats on the screen up above this post...The above post is transmitting all over rather than one freq..
It like this..If your the muscle pullin 5/10 more people up the hill..Your power is scattered and spread to thin to be as effective as it can be...
Or think of it as a water fall..Supplys lotsa water but its splashin all over..
Speakin of splashin...My tub and rubber ducky AND bubbles is waitin on me..

 

These radios(955/655) are pep about 70ish..Cut that in half for closer for average or rms...

Same with amps..They advertise or lable them as (example 350)but your getting about half that and maybe even less..

 

I understand all of that. I've had 1000 watt average mobile setups in the past. I just have never put my 655 on the meter. I'll hook it up to my bird tomorrow and see what I get average. Then I can calculate the PEP.

 

I got a nice sound outta mine when there is not 50 people talkin over one another and crappin..Every reply i get im told its chrystal clear..I even told mark a cpl times my responces..
Might have the 447hpc2 hooked up tomorrow..Been tryin to figure out how i was gonna mount it without cuttin up my dash..

 

Fyi...I seen a fella show 600 watts on a 2970n4 useing bird but im sure it scattered like a trump protest..
Just not gettin that kinda power outta toshiba 2879's or for sure outta dei's.
