Being home or making money?Trucker_Wifey Thanks this. -
I can only speak for LTL as they offer the best jobs around as far as hometime, pay, turnover rate (avg 8% vs OTR avg. of 100%+) In my opinion these are the top LTL jobs.
TOP LTL's
UPS Freight
FedEx Freight
ABF
Old Dominion - driver apprenticeship program
Southeastern - driver apprenticeship program
Dayton Freight
TOP Foodservice

Well, the making money part will come in time and so will the being home part. We definitely would like regional (eventually- if not starting out). From talking to one company, they start out OTR and after some months are able to switch to regional but he told me realistically that my husband could be OTR for 6-9 months. I'm not sure if that's most or all companies.

If your tired of your man, send him OTR, if you want him home every night and weekends to do the "honey do list", find him something local. It's up to you !
Trucker_Wifey and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this. -
Any thing government , if you're lucky enough to get in. I worked driving an 18 for the federal gov for 40 years , retired and now collect 82% of my pay.
