Autonomous Trucks

So what is the explanation of those speeding cars around you day in , day out?

 

What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law.

 

Oh your probably right about robot trucks, but one question,,,, what are you going to do with around 3/4 of a million out of work people? And thats just here in this country.
I saw this movie before, Iraq.
Idle hands are the devils playground. Multiply that by several million................

 

There is a concept called a Basic Income that futurists talk about and a couple of European countries are toying with. It's kind of like welfare but a different name. It's a recognized fact that automation will eliminate A LOT of jobs. The only ones making money will be the owners of the assets and the technologists. They will be taxed and that will go to pay you and I a basic money level of income. It won't just be a meager amount like welfare currently is, but a decent amount so that you can do other things - artist, teach, etc.

 

If our environment gets so bad that we have to live in sealed domes on Mars and if we go outside we die, why not just build the sealed domes here on Earth?

Even the Germans couldn't make Marxism work, it's failed everywhere, we can stop trying Marxism any time now. People wil not be free to pursue their passion if they have a guaranteed income they will do nothing but complain they weren't given enough guaranteed income. The Earned Income Tax Credit was the USA's version of guaranteed income and people getting it make sure not to do well enough to lose it. Human nature isn't changing.

 

To all those who fear the falling sky of "autonomous self driving trucks"...riddle me this....why do I still see a human in this picture?....if automation is so hyped up?
