The insurance finally approved my sleep study so I went in for it last night and literally could not sleep a wink. I layed there with my eyes closed for 6 hours. They sent me home and told me to call back and reschedule and they'd give me a Xanax next time. Lol, I literally cannot win for losing. Called the doc earlier and he is supposed to call me back to reschedule it. I really don't want to miss work but it looks like I might have to.

Most medical techs are just about useless. They should have said, hey, this guy isn't sleeping after about 2 hours and gave u a remedy then. Instead u get to waste more of your time because now they can bill your insurance twice.

Not to make this political but there in lies 90 percent of the root issue of why national health care doesn't work.

Totally agree. Didn't even offer me anything and I just had 4 hours notice I'd be taking the test. When I go back, I'm going to drink a bottle of NyQuil and take the Xanax pill they prescribed me. It was also 79 degrees in the room. Way too warm.

I ate a few Advil PMs before my study. Worked like a charm.

Well dude, the first time I've gone though it, I laid there for 2 hours before I started to doze off, and that was after working the entire day plus short of sleep the night before. I learn just to think about nice pleasant things to do with all the big bucks i would have made in trucking and I went right to sleep every time. OH and they told me at the first lab I wasn't allowed to roll over on my side, that's the only way I sleep, even after being injured and last November, I could not sleep on my back no matter what, took the pain over no sleep.

Also shows the stupidity of a sleep test. Lets just drug the subject to sleep, that won't affect the results at all.
If they really wanted to know a home monitor over a week (at least) is what is needed. Any shorter of a test is pointless.

It's pretty bad. I had over 27 wires hanging out of me, plus 2 on my legs, plus 2 tight belts around my abdomen, and an oxygen sensor on my nose. It's hell. To be honest, I don't know if I will be able to sleep with a Xanax and Nyquil. I've never took a Xanax before so I don't know.

    Mike2633 Thanks this.

That's ridiculous, I only sleep on my side. This is what I'm saying, it's not a real test, it's a scam!
