Good luck, man. The term "all gauges and no wages" came about for a reason.

Their truck or yours? Theirs? You're just asking for trouble doing a 1099 deal. But, if they pay well and run you fairly, AND you you are a stickler with setting back tax money, a 1099 can work. That is, of course, if you keep your foot out of that throttle. Tickets aren't cheap and neither is insurance.

Their truck, running team with the owner.
We pick our own loads..everything for me just like a lp..without the headaches.
I know Im paying all my deductions myself..just cant handle driving 62 mph everywhereTall Mike Thanks this. -
I can say this much. I took a pay decrease to go to a company where I could run 75 mph. I have not regretted it one bit. I am able to run more miles per day.

Good luck but keep in mind there are many companies that have wide open trks and they're not 1099.Steel Dragon Thanks this.

Good luck.pattyj and Steel Dragon Thank this. -
I'm doing the same thing w/o the 1099..
I took a small cut in pay to get in the truck in my sig pic....Still making more than I ever did in 23 years of being a door slammer so its all good.
Everybody has different needs..
and I need not be surrounded by 65-70mph trucks all day with no means of escape.. -
Let's see.... except lower pay, have to run more miles then I had to before in order make the same amount of money I did before, have to handle my own taxes probably no stability in that company if so wouldn't be doing business under a 1099 (just my opinion) just to be able to drive a fast truck...... HMMM!!! honest not being a troll but what are you 10?
