I used to carry my physical Long Form in a binder in my truck...that would work fine for as long as it was needed.
The CDL (in Iowa) would cost $10 to replace, but has to be done in person, because a new photo would be required.
The credit/debit cards should be cancelled IMMEDIATELY and I personally store the institutions/banks numbers on my phone for just that. Some card providers charge for replacement cards, some don't.

I agree with the "chain drive" wallet...take a little crap from my wife and adult kids....but I DON'T lose my wallet thank you very much.

First call your credit card companies, then call your DMV and ask them what you can do, they've dealt with that I bet a lot.

 

Sounds like my mom when I lost something. Mom, "if I remembered where I had it last, I wouldn't be looking for it"!

 

Had one of those for years. One time had to hit bathroom real bad chain got hung up in e brake handle on car. Couldn't get it free so had to yank wallet out of pocket and run lol. Quit carrying wallet years ago just carry money clip in front pocket.

 

Threw my wallet away once, i recalled the fellow on the cart was changing bags, when I realized I might have tossed it out, I went inside and asked a few questions. surprisingly the fellow knew exactly which bag and where to look, he did it himself, it was there, gave him $5.00 for a few minute's of his time
