Lol that sounds pretty crazy driver. I mean you know the stinky drivers we've all seen the kind... and you're saying put a few cloves of garlic under my pillow? Sounds like something my grandparents would have said. I might give it a shot wth lol!

@BoyWander you should not just stick to a couple of lanes unless you get a dedicated outbound shipper. Spot market money making lanes change. In March you can do nursery loads in Midwest, not busy, but allright. In April NC and SC start moving, then GA and TN. Heck in May-June even northern FL is good. In July-Sept stay in the Midwest again. In Nov-Dec anything from IA, WI,IL and MN is moving east like crazy. January is alright anywhere along i80. In February go to Mexico for a whole month.
Forget about that stupid West and deep south, there is rarely any money there.
You also should do your resets at home, you might gross $500 less per week doing that, but in the long run it will save your mental and physical health.
A guy I know was doing dedicated 3500 miles per week for the last 8 months. He just had a mental breakdown, went to doc on Wed, got meds and now gonna be sitting at home nobody knows for how long. Living in a metal box for weeks at a time is horrible and not worth a little extra moneyTroady, Knucklehead, Lite bug and 6 others Thank this. -
Thanks. I don't think I'll be going to Mexico.
I don't plan on going west again either. I'll stay in Midwest and Southeast regional areas. Maybe MD or VA if it pays. Don't care much for Northeast. -
Lol I meant go to Mexico for a vacation, not for workMarkH129, Lepton1, diesel drinker and 2 others Thank this.

The problem with your theory is there are many times the dispatcher gives me a load so horrible I strongly reject it and then five minutes later they magically pull out the best load of a lifetime. They could have just given me the best load the first time so no conspiracy.
-
Being that I have seen it for years in practice, not theory, from both sides of the coin I'd say you've got some studying up to do grasshopper. So you whine over a mediocre load and they take it back giving you a better one? Guess what, someone else had to take that other load so you could get the gravy. Starting to see why you complain a lot. You probably do get some BS from dispatch and it's mostly from your own making.
CaptainDaveG, Lepton1 and spyder7723 Thank this. -
In May FL changes poles completely. Suddenly it's a 2.50+ outbound market and a 1.50 or less inbound market. That's because like 10 different kinds of produce are all moving during that time period. This goes on from a couple of weeks before Mothers day to mid June. It continues till 7/4 if you count South Georgia, which you can if you want. Georgia produce sheds are the worst though. I suffer through that month with gritted teeth lol.DUNE-T Thanks this.

Yeah because getting called every 10 minutes for a solid month by pissed off truck drivers waiting stupid amounts of time is super fun. Because I'm capable of talking to people with a legitimate grievance (even if they were told it would probably happen in advance nobody is going to be happy waiting from 8am-10pm to get loaded) and just not giving a #### about them. Sure buddy.
I'm a greedy #######... Why is that totally ok when it's you but totally unacceptable when it's me? I'm a capitalist, I don't think profit is a dirty word, and neither should you. Yes spending a ton of time talking to pissed off truckers instead of people looking to book loads costs me money. You're not wrong about that.Lepton1 Thanks this.
