You'd have to start your 14 anyway. Just don't push the button until you're at the pumps. Most e-log set ups either give you a mile or two, or have a speed parameter, before they trip to driving. Leave your spot, set up in line (if there is one) and wait until it's your turn to fuel before starting the day.

Why would anyone go on duty and fuel up and then go park in the exact spot they spent the night and then ask dispatch for a load?
-
Doesn't matter who they are. You mess with a mans livelihood you pay the old school way. But now it's ,,, oh mommy that bad person wronged me I need my safe space kinda people out here. Which one are you?

How did I replace that fuel?I just fuelled again (not in the same place ofc) using company card-) Telling my boss wouldn't do any good. That Prostar had small tanks so I had to fuel quite often.
-
Still what would you do if you woke up to someone stealing your fuel?Would you call cops from sleeper?Seems unwise to risk health/life for company fuel. There was more than one thief.
-
Beats me. But that's not what i'm talking about.
YOu fuel up. And drive across the street. Or down the block or whatever. And you sit and wait. To get unloaded. Or loaded.Oxbow and diesel drinker Thank this. -
That doesn't help when you have to wait and wait to get unloaded or loaded. Down the street.
I didn't have elogs so it was no big deal to me. But that situation DOES happen. And HAS for me.
One example. Bozeman MT. Fuel up at the J. Go across the street to the junkyard. You either wait for teh load OR you wait inline behind other trucks. Who are also waiting for the load. Fuel up at 8 a.m. Start loading at 2 p.m.Last edited: Mar 2, 2017

You're right, but I wasn't thinking that way. I was thinking more along the lines of having to start your day anyway due to driving a couple hours to delivery or pick up, or just driving a full day on a coast to coast type trip.

A theif will take the path of least resistance. With hundreds of other trucks to steal from, the odds of having fuel stolen with locking caps are very low.

I am the company and its my fuel that I paid for with my hard earned money. Personally I would beat the $h!t out of them.Big_D409 Thanks this.
