One of our Centuries ate it's turbo the other night.
What a freaking mess.
It literally was like Mount Vesuvius oil out the stack and every where. I mean the whole truck is coated.
Haven't seen the trailer yet.
ZOMG.

Yep had 2 go on my 60 series, not a pretty sight
Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
What did you do to clean all the oil off?
-
Seems to me, the newer or rebuilt turbos might be very poor quality. I had a series 60 back in the 90s and rarely ran into any issue.
But it does suck when one goes, that's for sure.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Lots of HOT HOT HOT water.passingthru69 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

That's what the shop manager said as well. He said even the Detroit reman's are hit & miss. He said there are no new ones anymore.
-
Like hot water pressure washer. We had one of those at CEMEX. Didn't even think of that.

A guy my old man used to haul with had one go on his Cat in the middle of town. Said flames shot 4 feet out the pipes lol.passingthru69 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Yes the hotter the better as it will make the oil thinner and easier to clean up. Then hit the truck up with a good wax tupe car/truck wash soap and maybe even wax it depending on how well you wanna protect the paint and kepping her looking good.passingthru69 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
