I understand why so many bums hang around truck stops now

Nope they don't want us to send money anymore Six. They want to come here to get it

 

Lol they come in all color and sex I came to this country at the age of 13 now 45 and a father of 8 one son 7 girls we as Jamaican we work hard are sell a little weed OK but we don't take people things off them in the street. And when someone go out there make up lies they are no worst than some one that robs people same thing different way

Had a lady walk up to my truck at a truck stop one after noon with 2 lil kids and said her car was out of gas and she needed to get 400 miles down road to her sisters. I gave her 10 dollars and it felt good. Few minutes later I watched a SUV drive into parking lot and her and the kids jumped in and I watched her light a cig and start calling someone on a cell phone while they drove off. In guessing that was the crack dealer that in a few mins would have my 10 dollars in his pocket.. from now on I'm sick of these people, I tell them soon as I see one walking up to me to get the F@@k away from me.. I guess it's mean or whatever but I got no time for it nomore

Sweet mother of chicken. With your logic, you're implying that if I don't give to every panhandler that asks for money, I'm just as bad as an alcoholic or drug addict. Both alcoholism and drug addictions are terrible afflictions that never stop tugging at your shirt, it's a very unfortunate place to be. But really?

Lincoln once said; "You cannot help a man permanently by doing for him what he can and should do for himself." Now, I sometimes can't tell the truly needy from the fraud, but then I'm not going to tear my imaginary hair out trying to discern between them. There are times when I'm struck with a strong sense of conviction, and I will give freely with no regret. But those moments are rare.

You go ahead and give money to everyone that asks for it. And unlike you, I won't judge you when you do.

 

I was on the street for about 12 yrs with the help of government hand outs .When the free hand outs stopped I got my ### to work.

 

Sometimes I give them a little something if I have it. No rhyme or reason usually, just depends on my mood. And if I really don't have anything I got no problem telling the truth.
