My car recently needs to have a costly repair that will hurt my chances of going to a private school like Roadmaster. Is going to a private school better than a company sponsored schooling? Someone with absolutely no experience of a tractor driving.
Roadmaster school in Tampa Fl. Vs company sponsored schooling.

Depends on the circumstances of the individual; in your case probably a trucking company cdl school. You don't want the stress of trying to get to school every day, wondering if the car will break down.
Jim Palmer Trucking maybe hires in Tampa. They'll pay for transportation to their school in Springfield,MO or Missoula,MT plus provide meals and lodging.
@sventvkg can give you pointers; he lives in Florida.
If for some reason Jim Palmer doesn't hire you, try Contract Freighters Inc. about their cdl school. 800-cfi-drive (www.cfidrive.com) I think their school is in Joplin,MO. They'll ship you there and provide lodging and meals.Last edited: Mar 6, 2017
MondoburgerHD Thanks this. -
Someone tried suggesting Prime Inc. Are they any good? Any companies out of state I would need transportation.

The companies out of state will give you a bus ticket from Tampa to the school. Sometimes if there's several drivers needing to get there, a rental car is used and paid for by the trucking company.
Prime is ok, but Jim Palmer has full size trucks, not the tiny trucks Prime uses. Jim Palmer also hauls for Prime. Pay is about the same with either Prime or Jim Palmer. Jim Palmer starts at .40 cpm. Nice trucks; check the website for pictures of what you'll be driving.MondoburgerHD Thanks this. -
Alright. I'll give them a check up. I don't have 3 years of work experience though so hopefully that isn't a issue.

Just put unemployed or student if you were in college or whatever.MondoburgerHD Thanks this.

I have 2 years of work experience though.

That's probably ok. Apply to 2 or 3 companies and take the best offer or whichever can get you started the quickest.MondoburgerHD Thanks this.

I'd either go with CFI or Jim Palmer.
Chinatown and MondoburgerHD Thank this.
