I hate being paid zip code to zip code.. at the end of the week I'm scared to look how many hours I drove for free. God I wish I hadn't even thought about it now

Amen to that.
When I drove for Pride Transport, there was a run I did.
Pick up loaded trailer in St George, Utah then take it down to McClane in San Bernardino, Ca. There's only one optimum way to make that run ( south on I-15) and I was shorted 25 miles each and every time.
This was a major account and I did about four of these runs per month. That's 100 miles I never got paid for on this account alone!
Then you add the other runs, and it never worked out in a fair manner. -
I did 34 miles today somehow for free. Maybe they waiting to pay me for these at one time soon
Panamapilot Thanks this. -
It sucks to be shorted like that. It used to be that way for me, too. If it was a straight line route it was cool..Twists and turns in the Appalachians and I got burnt bad. When they spent hundreds of dollars to pull me out of a stupid mess or I bent a rim they never said a word though. So there was some balance. When the owner's nephew was my dm, however, and I parked not at TA but wherever my clock ran out-he paid whatever miles the Google maps route said it was. Big difference many times. So, if Eat Your Veggies does not like the idea of someone saying 51cpm on some length of miles that's shorter than what he drove-well, who would like it? If he doesn't want a suspicious camera watching him and what it implies and doesn't want to throw a towel over it to rage on a 4 wheeler or dig for gold-hey cool. No one likes it. I did talk to one ofl their drivers today who has been there 8 years. In all fairness to that company he said he lives in remote Utah and carriers would not hire him. This company has been late 1 day once getting him home because his truck broke. He had a lot of good to say and had a longer run than me. His next stop after Fontana to Denver was some air conditioners in Pueblo that are like 4 chains and no tarp. A couple good joy rides to start the week. Admittedly, I wanted to get in his truck and get his check in that moment.Crusader66 and 19d Thank this. -
I think what he meant by that is I need some benzodiazapines and to get a life and Eat Your Veggies would be a good district attorney or diamond cutter.19d Thanks this.

I do drive for Melton for the last 2 years,
last year i made 64.000 gross. and i make 49 cents a mile.
Yes we do have inside face cameras, but safety never called me or micromanaged me.Also my D.M. treats me great. There are no perfect trucking companies, but so far the good are more then the bad for me at Melton.LeadFarmer, Jagsfan, Crusader66 and 1 other person Thank this.
