I run individual stainless fenders and I don't have any trouble. You have to pay attention sometimes I have to raise up to keep the neck out of them, a step deck could present more of a challenge but I never had any trouble when I pulled one of them. Here's my setup.

That is a nice setup, those fenders look good on there.Razororange, SnowMan24, snowman_w900 and 3 others Thank this.

I'm running individual colored minimizer ones here.
The reason I had to go with a more flexible ones is I go in and out of approaches with a grain hopper trailer, and the trailer always dips into the fender and sits on it for awhile until I get in the main road. The tops of my fenders have scratches and gouge marks.
I would love to have those fenders that you have @johndeere4020.Razororange, TripleSix, SnowMan24 and 3 others Thank this. -
I would sure like to have fenders like that, but it would make chaining up really difficult. I will probably look into adding full fenders on my lowboy neck instead. I need to get an approved method so I don't risk the integrity of the neck. I am not sure if welding or drilling for mounts would be better - I need to get in touch with the trailer manufacturer to see if they have an approved method.Razororange, TripleSix, SnowMan24 and 3 others Thank this.

I'm just asking to ask- third picture, tractor with duals. I remember JD saying if it's reasonable (under 8 hours?) the duals had to come off. I think. I remember Hurst catching grief for not doing it. I seem to remember him arguing it wouldn't have changed much since the hub stuck out so far.
Just a regulation question. I could be confusing breaking down a shovel for weight with taking tires off for over width.Razororange, SnowMan24 and snowman_w900 Thank this. -
It can be different state to state, I've had to take stuff off when going from dealership to dealership, but going from dealership to farm I was able to permit with wheels on.Razororange, TripleSix, SnowMan24 and 5 others Thank this.

I guess I never had to chain up but you are correct it would be very difficult because it is tight between fender and tire. Full fenders you could have more room to work with.
I think that is a good idea to contact the trailer manufacturer and see what they would approve and what would work.Razororange, SnowMan24, snowman_w900 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That was a "Sunday" move. He sold that tractor to a guy about 60 miles away, the options were to haul it or drive it, I decided to haul it.Razororange Thanks this.

I never even thought about that, thanks for the heads up I will definitely check into it.
I have installed a lot of the Minimizer brand and honestly I don't care for them, they just seam flimsy and weak. If I had my way I would install the Fleet Engineers fenders, they are a lot stronger, cover more of the wheels, and have a steel tube mounting bracket. These are the fenders I put on the blue and white T800, only damage was when the owner hooked to a step deck and didn't slide the 5th wheel back.

I like it a lot, even with the 8 bag air ride it rides really nice for how heavy spec'd of a truck that it is.
That is a good looking setup, but I'm really afraid someone else (or even me for that matter) would wreck those in a hurry. Especially if i slid the 5th wheel up to where I wanted it, to actually make use of the 20K steer.Razororange, Oxbow and SAR Thank this. -
I appreciate your feedback. I've never had a problem with mine. I'd have to agree with you they are kinda flimsy, but they work for us. All my drivers are careful so maybe that's why they have lasted us over the years.
If I had to do it all over again I would of gone with the ones you posted. They do look much stronger and better. If I do wreck some of mine I'll replace with the fleet engineer ones.Razororange, MJ1657 and Oxbow Thank this.
