    Hey Gents,

My AC compressor clutch is not kicking in. I purchased a throw away recharge kit from Walmart, thinking maybe I was low on freon, but not, system fully charged. Checked the fuses in the SAM Chasis inside the cab, also went looking at the relay covers in the engine bay compartment; one on the firewall and another near by, but didn't see anything that indicated there are fuses / relays for the AC compressor there.

Am I not looking in the right area for a relay / fuse, other than the fuses I found inside the SAM Chasis fuse box?

Wanted to ask for help before going off and having to buy a compressor. thanks.

You won't know if your system is fully charged unless the compressor is running. The system takes 3.5 pounds of freon. That can had 12 oz. take it to a ac check, they will put in the proper amount after they evacuate the system and vacuum test the system for leaks. Far cheaper than just parts changing.

Buy a test light to find if 12V. is getting to your compressor, if not work your way to the a/c switch in dash, pull all ele. plugs on sensors plus ck plug/ins on dryer and ck. them for green corr. then clean them an plug them back in?

Hey thanks, I have a digital multi-meter and that was on my list to do in the morning. I am getting a green light in the cab sensor when I press and depress the AC switch. Don't know if that would be the cause, but will attempt your suggestion.

    thanks again.

Use the power and grounds from the alternator and hook up to the clutch. At least then you know your clutch I's ok. Then turn ac on the check voltage on the harness side. Use the power and ground at the harness

I was looking at some instructional videos and changing the clutch out is not that big a deal. If it were the compressor and I wanted to change the clutch out - were do I purchase?

i think 2010 Cascadia has Japanese ac compressor and no separate clutch is available at dealers.

The green light in the cab don't mean anything.

Mine comes on and the condensor is damaged. There's no freon in the system to even THINK about sending power to the compressor.

I have 2012 Cascadia, and had to replace whole compressor after my clutch failed last year. $100 from eBay for brand new one.
