What are the chances of finding good jobs with an auto restriction on your license, after having a year experience?

Can you just ask companies to let you use thier truck to get it removed?

Lots of companies have switched to auto's. Find the company you want to apply and see what they will do

Will some let you borrow a truck to get the restriction removed, since they would be hiring you?

Each company has different rules which is way you need to do your research for a company you like and talk to them. Can you drive a stick without more training?

Also with the large number of companies that have switched to auto's you shouldn't have a problem getting a job with that restriction.

Some states have started putting a restriction on your CDL based on the type of truck you take the driving test in. In those states if you take the driving test in an automatic you will be restricted to driving a truck with an automatic transmission. Texas has talked about it but hasn't done it yet.

Automatic, if you test for your cdl with an automatic transmission there is a restriction on your license. My husband is about to go out training with a company and the trainer has an auto, so he's going to be stuck with the restriction until he can get it removed.

Yeah that sucks. I personally hate automatics, only time they're useful is in L.A. traffic or something of that sort. Especially if they don't have a clutch. Backing is a #####, pulling out to make a quick turn if needed sucks, you're more likely to get stuck in a winter situation, etc.

    Nope, no choice unfortunately

Luckily, they do have locking differentials in the back that I know of, to help with the winter getting stuck situation.
