    When Chrysler restructured Detroit Diesel in late 2003 / early 2004 that is when they announced that Detroit would be an exclusive Freightliner product. They still had some contracts to supply third parties beyond 2004, but I think most of those were gone by 2005.

    I haven't seen a Detroit in a Pete newer than 2003 (except for gliders), but then again my eyesight is not that good.
