Taking another swing at it

For the first time in 27 seasons, my Wings won't make the playoffs short of a miracle. They were sellers this year. Pawning off our leading scorer. On the bright side, for the first time in what seems like forever, we will get a top ten draft pick . I'm hoping for a solid D man. I know it won't be another Lidstrom or Mark Howe, but any reliable D man would be an upgrade. Goal scoring isn't exactly awesome, but it's our D that is why the wings are on the outside of the playoffs looking in.
I'm actually looking forward to this years draft. And maybe I can get to training camp in September to get a first look.

 

I was finally able to get a shower in. Between being on the edge of nowhere, and having to start my days at 2am, some may have thought I gave up showering for lent...but I'm clean again! No worries.

 

Looks like I made it out of the plains area just in time. Back in MI now. I was due home but I'm going to stay out a bit longer to tie up all the loose ends. The family and I are going to WI Dells for their spring break. Great Wolf Lodge in a different city. Plus, we can swing by and visit my mom on the way back. Shamefully, she hasn't seen the girls in nearly 3 years. Menominee MI isn't exactly on the way to anywhere (except Wisconsin Dells and Mall of America via the U.P.)
Long overdue.

 

Now I'm at Diamond pet food in Meta Mo. Anyone familiar? Is there a way to get out of here that doesn't involve roller coaster like hills to climb?

 

On my way east from Iowa, I needed to scale my load and get fuel. I have the CAT weigh my truck phone app linked to our fuel card so I don't feel the cost up front. I exited at Walcott. Went to eastbound side Pilot, no scale. So I pull out and head over I80 to the other Pilot. I noticed an old white pickup truck behind me. No biggie.
I pull into the westbound Pilot to notice their not a CAT scale but another brand. I don't even stop. I slowly pull past the fuel lanes and to the exit driveway.
The white pickup is following me. Non stop.
I go into the TA and he pulls in behind me.
At that point I'm positive this person is tailing me. I drove deep into the parking lot and did a couple of loops before pulling onto the CAT scale.
The pickup finally flipped back to the auto parking lot.
Can't imagine what that was about, but it was a strange thing to experience.

 

A driver who got his truck through my company passed me in his Landstar truck all shiny. Then he called and tried selling me on Landstar again. Said he made more in 4 months than he did 2 years where I'm still at. Take home. He's grossed 75k and has driven maybe 35k miles so far.
Really puts a nice argument to jumping over.
A big difference between myself and many others, I don't have a truck payment now. Fixed cost will be less than $200
Pretty tempting.

 

I go home when I want. Typical 160 mile bobtail. I'm ok with it because my fixed cost is low. I don't need freight to or by the house to go home. I answer to one person. Myself.
