That's a really old award, been on their trailers as long as I can't remember.

Take a look at who's on the board of the ATA and you'll know how they got it.

fed ex green sets the delivery time with the same drive time whether you are late leaving or on time.

if it is a 6 hour allotted drive to the next dc it is 6 hours from the time you walk out of dispatch not the schedule out time.

    That's not current. It's a back-pat to having won it 3x. Probably in '68, '70 & '74 (numbers are arbitrary).

Doesn't mean #### but 'We used to be safe'. /PSA.

FedEx Freight drivers all move slower than molasses, at least every one I've ever seen.

FedEx Ground on the other hand uses contractors for the most part, hence the predominant difference in driving habits.

I think the pic that shows they won the presidents award is from 1973.

That award must have been given before the 2 Fed ex doubles, ended up over the hill..... both within about 8 days at the exact same spot! I-64 east starting down the hill toward Institute exit. Both went through the guardrail. I got caught in 1 of the back ups, next time I was west bound.

Back when I was hauling cars in Fla, before I started subbing for Hansen and Adkins, in desperation I did a few jobs for a guy that downloaded and printed up awards off the internet. He went so far as to frame and hang them on the wall in his office. He said it would make him look more esteemed to people he was trying to conduct business with.

I didnt have the heart to tell him he should have edited them before he printed them. If you looked closely,.. they still had the name of the website he downloaded them from in smaller print in the corner. Yes,.. he was that much of an idiot.
