    I guess the way they hauled the combines was pulling the combines backwards with A-frame tied underneath to the front axle lifting the steering axle towed with the truck. This was done by
    pumping 35 pounds of air into the tractor tires and pulled them down the highway.

    455 Cat? That's exactly what our 97 KW has is a 455 Cat, was that a popular engine at that time?

    I had a choice of the 455, 475 or 500 but the extra $$ for a few HP wasn't worth it for this cheap s.o.b. 96 was the first year for the E models I believe. A friend of mine had a 95 with a "C" model. The 455 did fine for me at the time as it was before the 9 axle. On 7 I never got over 156K. Quite a change from the 79 Pete with the BC350 / 13sp.
