Yes. I bought the 79 from the rental yard where I worked. It was originally a tanker that I had driven once in a while and was one of the tightest trucks in the fleet. When the rental yard hired me he said find a truck, whatever you want & we'll set it up. I went to my former boss at the tanker outfit and asked if he would sell #47. He did and I got it set up pretty much how I wanted it. Shortened it to 220"+/-, SSHD 4.11 and paint. I lost the argument about the twin stacks (I hate a stack next to the door). I'll post a pic of the before & after if I can dig out the one before we painted it. It had 600K when we got it and 780K when I bought it. I sold it at 1,200K 4.5 yrs later.

 

12/01/1990. Then the first gulf war started in Feb 91. It got SLOW. I thought I screwed up. After about a year it got busier & and I never had to look for business. Bought the 72 from a former boss in 97 and hired a driver in 98. I drove the 72 for a year then bought a new 2000. Used the 72 for the rough stuff & winch jobs. Bought a used 2001 379 in 04, it only had 75K on it, like new. Used it for the Trailking hyd tail and all the light stuff. (another driver too). Bought the 06 and couldn't find a decent 3rd driver so I sold the 96 to a crane outfit. MISTAKE. The said it was the best truck they ever had. sold the 3 trucks & 8 trailer combos 9 yrs ago this April 1.
