Only time I ever got stuck in the mud was in winter in Dove Creek, CO. I missed the turn into the Dove Creek Superette (parking for three trucks) headed eastbound on US-491. I attempted to turn around in a vacant dirt lot a few blocks farther east on the north side.

Temperature was below freezing, the ground LOOKED frozen, but halfway through the turn I came to a stop. I was up to the rims, but it was slimy.

    Okay, think.

Obviously Kitty Litter wasn't going to work. I took out a chain, draped it over a drive tire and decided THAT wasn't an option for successfully chaining under all that mud. Then I decided to simply break out the collapsible snow shovel, get the worst of the pile in front of the drives, then stuff a bunch of chains under the leading edge of the drives.

    It worked!

Once I was turned back onto solid ground it took another half hour to find my chains under all that mud.

I have to absolutely certain the terra is firma before you'll catch me off a man made surface since then lol.

The weird thing is I've taken a mixer @78,000 pounds into some unreal places, I mean you gotta bury one of those up to almost the fenders to get stuck.

    I wonder why?

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Currently 85 in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.
I'm getting my last load for the week, and I'm sitting in the dock idling.

    I idle therefore I am.

Ooops and Big Don Thank this.

    Only if you get caught.

I'll claim I have a pet gerbil or something.
Gerbils we can pollute the atmosphere for. It's inhumane for them to get hot.

Just remember these nice cool days come July....

FWIW, I never let their stupid ordinance make me shut it down. I did spend more time in Phoenix, when I was with Knight, than I cared to.....
