Trucking use to be a great job where one could work and make a good living. And a lot of people came into it because they didn't want a supervisor looking over there shoulder. Well that has changed with the roll out of radar systems, cameras, and other software that has safety parameters set to alert the office.
Witch in turn has some dweeb desk jockey that's trying to repay student loans telling the driver what he or she should be doing. This is a crazy concept because the office personnel most of the time have never driven a truck. Nor seen the inside of one other than what the camera footage shows of.

The last few sentences of your statement can be said for all the drivers that are getting hired today that have had their hands held sense birth and cant think for themselves which is why the devices you listed are being installed on trucks.

It's a direct result of CSA..for the first time, carriers are being held liable. Just wait until shippers and receivers or even brokers become part of the csa family.
MidwestResident and bzinger Thank this. -
This is due to a collective dumbing down of the industry to suit the lowest common denominator.

With tracking installed on almost all trucks and elogs controlling hours onduty, shippers and receivers will have to pay for drivers being delayed at their docks. They are going to get there operations in order or paying for driver delay will bankrupt them. Some need to go bankrupt. I predict the DOT will get involved because you can not require people to work/be on duty unpaid. Sitting in a drivers lounge is not off duty because you are responsible for your truck until it is parked at a company terminal. It is well past time.

Think this through now....
This will cause the prices of just about everything to skyrocket. Nobody will just eat that extra cost. It will be passed on.Coover, addrenjunky and ExOTR Thank this. -
I agree, transportation cost will skyrocket but why should some drivers lose all those hours unpaid?

How are shippers and receivers going to be held responsible? How is it going to be enforced?
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!Crude Truckin' and snowlauncher Thank this. -
This may be true for some of the drivers, however, a lot of them are quite capable of thinking for themselves without having to be micromanaged every step of the way.
